Editorial and evidence policy

Useful science must show its source, limits and revision date.

ICY publishes commercial building-science explanations and practical measurement methods. Publication does not turn GCT into a standards body, engineering authority, code official or licensed trade for a scope it is not authorized to perform.

01

Separate kinds of information

Pages identify published technical principles, GCT field methods, conceptual illustrations, hypothetical examples and site-specific observations as different things. One is not presented as another.

02

Prefer primary sources

Scientific claims favor official government, standards-body and first-party technical sources. Source links are reviewed on the date shown; inaccessible or superseded references are repaired or removed.

03

Keep uncertainty visible

Measurements include operating context. Articles state what a reading can support and what it cannot prove by itself. Missing evidence stays labeled as missing.

04

Protect field evidence

No customer name, private service record, building image or outcome is published as evidence without appropriate authority and a documented reason to make it public.

05

Disclose assisted work

Drafting and illustrations may use software-assisted or generative tools. GCT reviews public text against cited sources and labels conceptual or synthetic art where a reasonable reader could mistake it for a field photograph.

06

Correct the record

Material corrections receive a new review date and a plain explanation when needed. Quiet spelling or formatting repairs do not become artificial freshness signals.

Authorship and review

Organizational responsibility without invented credentials.

Gulf Coast Technologies, LLC prepares and reviews ICY material. Named professional credentials are stated only when documented and relevant. Qualified engineers, code officials and licensed trades retain their own authority.

Corrections

Report a source or technical error.

Email db@gctllc.net with the page, disputed statement and best available primary source. A correction request is reviewed, not automatically accepted.
