Commercial problem guide
Cooler outdoor air is not a complete moisture-control decision.
Compare the event with the actual economizer sequence and weather. Keep mechanical cooling, ventilation and moisture control in the same investigation instead of assuming mild outdoor temperature makes outdoor air beneficial.

Recognize the pattern
- Humidity rises during particular mild-weather periods
- Economizer command and mixed-air behavior disagree
- Mechanical cooling compensates while outdoor-air mode is active
Systems that may be involved
- Economizer strategy and enable conditions
- Outdoor, return or mixed-air sensor error
- Damper linkage, feedback and relief/exhaust coordination
- Cooling and moisture-control sequence interaction
First useful evidence
- Approved sequence and recorded mode at complaint time
- Simultaneous outdoor and return temperature/moisture readings
- Commands, feedback and safe qualified position checks
- Zone trend and ventilation requirements
Expensive shortcuts to avoid
- Using a generic outdoor-temperature threshold
- Assuming percent-open equals percent outdoor air
- Closing outdoor air without checking ventilation requirements
Questions worth separating
Can outside air be cooler but still add a moisture burden?
Yes. Temperature and moisture need separate consideration within the approved control strategy.
Does a 50% damper command mean 50% outdoor air?
No. A command is not a measured flow fraction.
Should the economizer be disabled?
Not from this symptom alone. Have the responsible provider verify the sequence, sensors and physical response first.

Guides to Re-Tuning Measures
Economizer suitability depends on conditions and controls; damper command is not outdoor-air fraction; Some reheat serves dehumidification; excessive simultaneous heating and cooling needs sequence-based investigation
